Arguments are actually healthy.

The History

A Debate is a process that involves formal discussion on a particular topic. In a debate, opposing arguments are put forward to argue for opposing viewpoints.

In history, debating can date back to the philosophical and political arguments of Ancient Greece. Where two opposing sides lead a powerful argument that swayed the opinions of the onlooking crowd of towns people. Many of the major decisions of that time was decided during the debates.

Julius Caesar was said to have died at the hand of his best friend during a heavy debate of who would control the city.

The Logic

Debates are healthy and both parties, if played well, can stand to learn from each others opinions as well as adding to the on looking community's view points they would have not otherwise thought of. Its important to add your opinions and even more important to hear others. The most important point is that, if corrected with proper evidence and research, to accept your correction and stand proud in defeat. As it is not you who are defeated, it is the lies of ignorance. You can see much clearer with the truth as your glasses.

Psychology Today states: “Yet research suggests that the process of conflict and arguing facilitates talk and awareness of another’s perspective. Therefore, it is important to keep in mind that conflict and arguing can be very beneficial to the health of friendships ad romantic relationships.”

The most important tactic in an argument, next to being right, is to leave an escape hatch for your opponent, so that he can gracefully swing over to your side without an embarrassing loss of face.
